Mark has over 19 years of experience investigating computer based matters and has worked on more than 1,000 forensic investigations specialising in internet and email related incidents.
He was a Metropolitan Police Detective for 17 years, working on the Child Protection Hi-Tech Crime Unit based at New Scotland Yard, the largest computer forensic investigation team in the UK. The unit specialised in identifying, targeting and investigating internet criminals who were a threat to children. He has worked on computer related investigations worldwide and gained invaluable experience in this field.
Since leaving the Police he has led and managed a team dedicated to delivering computer forensic support to a number of leading law enforcement agencies, lawyers and industry.
Mark was the first law enforcement officer in the UK to be specially trained to combat the growing threat from paedophiles using the internet. He has managed and led numerous covert internet operations investigating and identifying illicit activity. In this role he has advised Parliament on new legislation required in this area.
As a Scotland Yard Detective, he lectured at the National High Tech Crime Training Centre, the National Police Training Centre and the Metropolitan Police Training School at Hendon. He has developed and delivered a number of presentations and lectures addressing the role of incident investigation in the workplace.
